Shea Moxon Featured at Florida Justice Association’s Annual Convention

Brannock Berman & Seider shareholder Shea Moxon participated in a special seminar for trial lawyers at the Florida Justice Association’s premier event of the year, discussing tactics from an appellate perspective for handling motions for mistrial.

The Florida Justice Association’s Annual Convention is the organization’s signature event. Aimed at bringing together lawyers who strengthen Florida’s civil justice system and protect the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers, hundreds of lawyers from all over the state attended the multiday conference.

This year’s continuing legal education seminar, “Emerging Defense Strategies and How to Combat Them,” focused on new trends in personal-injury and products cases. Alongside fellow panelists Michael Ellis of Alexander Appellate Law and Jeffrey Mansell of Burlington & Rockenbach, Shea discussed unpreserved, untimely, and frivolous motions for mistrial. He offered his perspective, having responded to many such motions, on how to most persuasively and strategically combat them.

Shea is an EAGLE member of the Florida Justice Association and a regular speaker at the organization’s events.
