Chambers USA Ranks Brannock Berman & Seider as One of Florida’s Top Appellate Law Firms
Regarded as having “the best appellate attorneys in Florida” and “a reputation throughout the state for their excellence,” Chambers USA has recognized Brannock Berman & Seider as one of Florida’s best firms for appellate litigation. Chambers has also listed four of the firm’s shareholders as notable appellate practitioners, giving Brannock Berman & Seider the most lawyers of any Florida firm of any size in the prestigious Chambers ratings.
In addition to leading the individual rankings, Brannock Berman & Seider is one of just six law firms, alongside large nationwide firms, listed in “Band 1” for Florida appellate practice. Chambers noted the firm’s depth, calling its lawyers “quick studies,” with “a nice mix of advice and writing skill,” who “bring valuable experiences and insights” to their clients’ cases.
Chambers is considered the “gold standard” for legal rankings. Its dedicated full-time research team speaks with lawyers and clients directly, conducting in-depth telephone and email interviews. The rankings are comprehensive, considering factors like technical legal ability, client service, commercial vision and business understanding, diligence, value for money, and the depth of a law firm’s team.
Just as in years past—he has been recognized for almost 20 years now—Steve Brannock was ranked in “Band 1” for appellate practice. Praised as “exceptional” and as “one of the most respected appellate attorneys in Florida,” Steve is one of just 14 lawyers statewide to receive Chambers’ highest ranking.
Joining him in the top-tier “Band 1” this year is Ceci Berman. Making the jump from “Band 2,” Ceci was singled out as “an exceptional attorney” who gives “practical and creative advice.” Clients also praised Ceci’s character and “subject matter knowledge, temperament, writing ability, and oral advocacy skill,” which “places her at the top of her field.” Steve and Ceci are the only lawyers at the same firm to share a Band 1 ranking.
Stepping up to a “Band 2” ranking from last year’s “Band 3,” Chambers also recognized firm shareholder Phil Padovano. Phil, who writes the leading treatise on appellate practice in Florida, was acknowledged as being “super knowledgeable,” showcasing his deep understanding of the law as a former appellate and trial-court judge.
Wrapping up the firm’s individual rankings, Chambers also upgraded Tom Seider from an “up and comer” to a “Band 3” ranking this year. Tom was lauded for being “very responsive, bright, and willing to take the time to understand complex issues.”
