Ceci Berman Presents on Family Law Appeals

Brannock Berman & Seider managing shareholder Ceci Berman, who has extensive experience handling family law appeals, was a featured panelist at a well-attended Hillsborough County Bar Association event jointly sponsored by the Appellate Practice and Marital & Family Law Sections.

Entitled, “The Practitioner’s Guide to Family Law Appeals,” the seminar focused on the differences (and similarities) between family law appeals and other types of appeals. It covered preservation of error, attorney’s fees, extraordinary writs, and preparation of the record on appeal. The preservation of error topic was especially relevant given recent changes to the court rules governing motions for rehearing. Ceci and the other panelists also offered practical tips for trial lawyers as they consider how to best position their family law cases for a successful appeal.  

Ceci was joined on the lunchtime panel by fellow appellate lawyers Kristin Norse and Dineen Wasylik. Mark Baseman served as the moderator.
