Ceci Berman Presents on Bankruptcy Appeals
Brannock Berman & Seider shareholder Ceci Berman participated in a panel discussion on key topics in bankruptcy appeals at the 48th annual Alexander L. Paskay Memorial Bankruptcy Seminar, an extensive continuing legal education program presented by the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Stetson University College of Law.
Ceci participated in a panel moderated by a bankruptcy judge that included two practitioners and a district court judge who hears bankruptcy appeals. The group discussed what makes bankruptcy appeals unique, touching on issues like jurisdiction, finality, stays, indicative rulings, direct appeals to the Eleventh Circuit, and preservation of error.
Held at the Westin Tampa Waterside hotel, the Paskay seminar is one of the premier annual events for bankruptcy lawyers and judges. It honors the lifetime achievements of its namesake, the late bankruptcy Judge Alexander L. Paskay.
