Joe Eagleton Now Chair of Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section

Brannock Berman & Seider partner Joe Eagleton has taken the reins as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, becoming the firm’s third lawyer to hold this prestigious position.

Joe’s role atop the Appellate Practice Section (APS) has been a long time coming.  After many years of involvement in and contributions to the Section—including serving as the Section’s Chair-Elect in the 2024-25 Bar year, Treasurer in 2023-24, and Secretary in 2022-23—Joe has become Chair for the 2025-26 year.  He plans to focus on connecting and engaging with the Section’s over 1,500 lawyer and judicial members as he leads APS in its mission to promote professionalism, collegiality, and excellent written and oral advocacy skills in Florida’s state and federal courts of appeals.  Joe takes over from Immediate Past Chair Courtney Brewer and will work alongside Courtney and Chair-Elect Elaine Walter, Treasurer Mary Walter, and Secretary Chance Lyman to manage the Section this year.

Joe’s ascension gives Brannock Berman & Seider a “hat trick” of APS Chairs, with Steve Brannock (2007-08) and Ceci Berman (2014-15) having previously served in the role.  Brannock Berman & Seider is the first and only law firm with three lawyers to lead APS, which is the largest statewide Bar organization focused on appeals.
